
Darren Bailey serves as the State Senator for the people of the 55th District of Illinois.
Darren was born and raised in Louisville, Illinois. He attended North Clay Unit #25 schools and earned an A.A.S. in Agricultural Production from Lake Land College in Mattoon.
Darren has spent his entire life farming in Clay and surrounding counties growing corn, soybeans, and wheat. He is also involved in trucking and excavating.
Before joining the Senate, Darren served one term in the Illinois House as the Representative for the 109th District. Prior to his time as a legislator, he spent 17 years serving on the North Clay school board, the last 12 as President. He and his wife Cindy are very active in their church and community. They founded Full Armor Christian Academy in Louisville. Darren is a Rotarian, Gideon, and belongs to various other organizations as well.
Darren and Cindy reside in rural Louisville and have 4 children; Zach (32), Cole (30), Abigail (27), and Mason (21). They also have 10 grandchildren.
